Description

Description:

1800 Anejo Tequila is a traditionally produced aged tequila that reflects the long-established methods of the Jose Cuervo family, under whose ownership the 1800 brand operates. Made from 100% blue Weber agave, it is produced in Mexico and aged in oak barrels for an extended period beyond the requirements for anejo classification. This ageing process allows the spirit to develop additional structure and depth while retaining its agave foundation. The 1800 brand itself takes its name from the year tequila was first aged in oak casks, marking a shift in how the spirit was produced and perceived. This expression sits within the aged segment of the range, focusing on traditional maturation rather than experimental finishes. The production emphasises continuity and heritage, using established techniques such as double distillation and oak ageing to create a tequila that reflects both historical practices and the broader development of aged tequila as a category.
