Sambuca

Sambuca is a sweet, anise-flavoured liqueur that is traditionally produced in Italy. It is made from a base of neutral spirits and a blend of anise, liquorice, and other sweet and spicy flavours. Sambuca is typically served neat or on the rocks, and it is often enjoyed as an after-dinner drink.

The history of sambuca can be traced back to the 19th century, when it was first produced in Italy as a medicinal tonic. It became popular as a recreational drink in the 20th century, and it is now enjoyed around the world as a classic Italian liqueur.

In addition to traditional sambuca, there are also many flavoured variations of the liqueur that are made with different fruits and spices. These flavoured sambucas are often made by infusing the base liqueur with additional ingredients, and they can range in flavour from sweet and fruity to spicy and savoury.
