Security

Winerite.com is a secure shopping website. We recognise the importance of security for the credit and debit card details and other information you communicate with us over the Internet.

Below are listed details why shopping at Winerite.com is safe:

The Winerite.com website uses TLS technology (a stronger form of encryption than SSL) to encrypt your personal information including credit/debit card numbers and name and address details. In simple terms, the encryption process takes the characters you enter and converts them into encrypted/coded characters that are then securely transmitted over the Internet.

We hold a GeoTrust/DigiCert website security certificate. DigiCert is a market leading provider for online encryption security and is one of the longest established in its field. Look out for the secure padlock in the address bar.

For added security when purchasing online, Winerite.com has Verified by Visa and Mastercard SecureCode enabled.

Winerite.co.uk is a Verified by Visa website What is Verified by Visa ?

Verified by Visa help protects your Visa card from fraud when you shop online. It provides an extra layer of security when you buy online. It's like the online equivalent to chip-and-pin.

Your Visa card issuer controls the checks in this extra secutiry layer. They may verify your identity with things such as a one-time passcode to your mobile or biometrics. If you encounter this extra step, simply follow the instructions on your screen to verify your identity.

Winerite.co.uk is a Mastercard SecureCode website What is Mastercard SecureCode ?

MasterCard SecureCode enhances your current MasterCard credit or debit card or Maestro card with a secret code to protect against unauthorized use of your card when you shop online.

Once you've registered and created your own SecureCode password, you may be prompted by your card issuer to type in your SecureCode password when you make a purchase at participating online stores. Simply enter your SecureCode when prompted. Your SecureCode will then be confirmed by your card issuer to complete your purchase. Correctly entering your SecureCode during a purchase confirms that you are the authorized cardholder.

If you forget your SecureCode, you may be prompted to reset it, or you can contact the customer service number for your financial institution, which is typically found on the back of your card.
