Akashi Japanese Blended Whisky is made at the White Oak Distillery located in the small city of Akashi, south of the main island. White Oak was the first Japanese distillery to be granted an authentic whisky distillation license in 1919. This beautiful Japanese blend is made from 30% malted barley and 70% grain. It's matured in American oak casks for five years. It has a pleasant freshness and spice with slight hints of sugary and fruity aromas. Both vibrant and powerful on the palate, the woody notes are followed by flavours of tasty dried fruit. A whisky that can be enjoyed neat or mixed. |
