Arran Amarone Cask Finish Single Malt Whisky is a distinctive island expression that explores the influence of Italian wine casks on the distillery's fruit-driven spirit. Produced at Lochranza Distillery, it begins its maturation in traditional oak casks before being finished in Amarone wine barrels sourced from the Veneto region of Italy. These casks, previously used to mature rich red wines made from partially dried grapes, introduce a deeper layer of colour and character to the whisky.
This release forms part of Arran's cask finish series, which focuses on how different wine and fortified wine casks can shape the distillery's spirit in distinct ways. The Amarone finish is particularly notable for its impact, adding weight and a darker fruit profile while maintaining the clarity associated with Arran's production style.
