Chairman's Reserve Original Rum is a blended St. Lucian rum that reflects the island's dual distillation tradition and a focus on structured, well-integrated blends. Produced by St. Lucia Distillers, it combines rums distilled in both Coffey column stills and traditional pot stills. These components are aged separately in oak barrels before being blended, allowing each style to contribute distinct elements to the final spirit.
The rum was originally created as a tribute to Laurie Barnard, a key figure in the development of the distillery, and represents a shift toward more premium, character-driven rum from St. Lucia. The production emphasises blending as a craft, with careful selection of aged components rather than reliance on additives or heavy finishing. It sits within the core range as a step above entry-level rums, offering a more developed structure while still being versatile for both sipping and mixing.
