Dalwhinnie

Dalwhinnie Distillery stands in the Cairngorm National Park at the heart of the Scottish Highlands in the village of Dalwhinnie. At 1164 feet above sea level it is the highest distillery in the land and is so remote that it has previously been recorded as the coldest inhabited place in Scotland.

Drawing upon clear spring water from nearby Lochan-Doire-Uaine and abundant peat from the surrounding bogs, the clean, heather-honey flavours of Dalwhinnie single malt whisky reflect its Highland mountain environment. Dalwhinnie retains the old ways wherever possible; traditional wood is still used for its washbacks and just two copper stills, as there have always been, send the alcohol into the lye pipes on its way to the stillman.
