Description

Description:

Domaine de Colonat's Moulin-a-Vent Les Greneriers is a striking Beaujolais that showcases the true potential of this historic cru. Crafted by the seventh generation of the Collonge family, this wine reflects an environmentally conscious approach and a deep respect for the distinctive terroir of the Moulin-a-Vent region. The vines, averaging over 70 years in age, are rooted in alluvial-sandy granite soils at the foot of the iconic Moulin-a-Vent windmill, an area celebrated for producing wines of great richness, colour, and longevity. Domaine de Colonat employs sustainable viticulture certified to the HVE standard and refrains from using herbicides and pesticides, focusing instead on maintaining a thriving vineyard ecosystem. Expert winemaking sees a careful selection and gentle handling of the 100% Gamay grapes, including partial destemming for added complexity. The wine is matured in a combination of concrete tanks and French oak barrels, resulting in a beautifully layered and harmonious expression of Moulin-a-Vent.
