Description

Description:

Domaine de la Solitude, Cotes du Rhone offers an authentic expression of the renowned Rhone Valley terroir, bringing together centuries of winemaking heritage with modern innovation. This celebrated estate, with roots tracing back to the 13th century, is run by Florent Lancon, who maintains a strong commitment to sustainable viticulture. The vineyards, largely situated in the Gard region and benefiting from prime Cotes du Rhone Villages sites as well as select parcels of Plan de Dieu and Rasteau, are nurtured in stony, limestone, and clay soils-ideal for producing rich, characterful wines. Crafted using traditional methods, including vinification and maturation in concrete tanks, this wine exemplifies elegance, structure, and a true sense of place.

Tasting Notes
Appearance:
This Cotes du Rhone pours an inviting, vibrant deep ruby red, showcasing its concentration and youthful vitality.

Nose:
The nose entices with a harmonious bouquet of concentrated, ripe red berry fruits. Layers of raspberry, cherry, and a hint of plum are lifted by subtle inflections of black pepper and exotic spice, offering complexity and intrigue.

Palate:
On the palate, the wine is supple and rounded, displaying lush berry fruit matched by a delicate, well-integrated tannic structure. Nuances of spice and a whisper of earthiness provide depth, while a core of fresh fruit maintains vibrancy and approachability.

Finish:
The finish is smooth and elegant, lingering with echoes of red berries and gentle spice, underpinned by a velvety texture that invites another sip. This is a beautifully structured Rhone red that balances power and finesse, perfectly suited to food pairing or enjoyment on its own.
