Hoegaarden

Hoegaarden is brewed in a village of the same name in Belgium. The village is noted for being the birthplace of Belgian wheat beer with records showing brewing in the village as far back as 1445 by the local monks. In 1957 the last witbier brewery in Hoegaarden closed its doors and the beer style began to die out. Some years later, Pierre Celis, a milkman who had grown up next to the brewery took it upon himself to preserve the style and took up brewing in his milk shed. This quickly grew into something much more.

Today, Hoegaarden is one of the world's best known and best loved wheat beers and can be found across the globe.
