Irish Mist

Irish Mist was the first liqueur to be produced commercially in Ireland in 1947, though the recipe dates back long before that. Ireland's ancient clans for centuries have drunk heather wine, a blend of spirit, honey, spices and herbs, but the recipe was thought to be lost in 1691. In 1947 the recipe reappeared when a traveller from Europe brought the recipe to Desmond Williams who was able to turn it into Irish Mist.

True to its origins, Irish Mist today is a blend of Irish whiskey with honey and aromatic spices. The traditional serve is neat or over ice, but also mixes well with coffee, vodka or cranberry juice.
