This is the classic Jack Daniel's - just on a much bigger scale. Made in Tennessee by Jack Daniel's, it's the same Old No.7 you already know, just in a 3-litre "jeroboam" bottle that's built for sharing (or making an impression). What makes it different from bourbon is the charcoal mellowing process - the whiskey is filtered through sugar maple charcoal before ageing, which smooths it out and gives it that signature mellow character. It's then aged in new American oak barrels, picking up notes like vanilla, caramel, and toasted wood along the way .
The flavour is familiar and easy-going - not too heavy, not too sharp - which is why it works just as well neat as it does in something simple like a Jack & Coke. The 3L bottle is really about the experience: great for parties, events, or just having a centrepiece behind the bar.
