Brilliant clarity with pale straw with green hues, the Bin 7 Riesling exhibits fresh, lifted floral aromas of kaffir lime and citrus spice, with underlying mineral flavours. The palate explodes with juicy, concentrated flavours of crisp apple, lime and grapefruit and finishes tight and long, with a fine minerally acidity.
Winemaker's Notes - A blend of Riesling from various sub-regions within the Clare Valley, this wine has been sourced primarily from Watervale and Neagles Rock. The 2004 vintage is bottled 100% under the Stelvin closure.
Background Information - Set in the picturesque Clare Valley, the Leasingham tradition evolved from humble beginnings in 1893. Rich soils and cool, moist conditions were perfect foundations for what is today a premium viticultural district. Despite advice to the contrary, Leasingham Wines planted Riesling extensively in the early 1940's. In 1960, this vision led to Leasingham being recognised as the best Riesling producer in South Australia and hence its reputation as a quality wine producer flourished. Today the tradition lives on with the Leasingham name synonymous with premium, award winning wines. |
