Description

Description:

Discover the understated elegance of Lismore Estate Vineyards Chenin Blanc from the Cape South Coast, produced by Californian winemaker Samantha O'Keefe in the breathtaking foothills of South Africa. Nestled close to the southernmost tip of Africa, this boutique estate harnesses the unique cool-climate terroir of Stanford in the Walker Bay subregion, where coastal breezes and sandy soils promote refined complexity and vibrant natural acidity. Cultivated in hand-tended vineyards at 300 metres above sea level, the Chenin Blanc grapes develop slowly, resulting in a wine that showcases finesse, balance, and meticulous craftsmanship. Samantha O'Keefe's commitment to natural winemaking techniques is evident in every bottle. The Chenin Blanc is whole-bunch pressed and fermented with wild yeasts in a combination of new and neutral barrels, then matured on the lees to deliver remarkable textural depth and complexity. Every stage of production is handled with care and attention, from the hand-harvested fruit to the judicious use of oak, ensuring a truly artisanal expression of this classic grape variety.

Tasting Notes
