Description

Description:

This is less about a fixed house style and more about expressing a moving base, with each release built around a specific year, in this case 2017, and supported by a mix of reserve wines that bring depth and continuity, so the wine feels both current and layered at the same time. Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier are all present, but rather than any one grape dominating, the balance shifts depending on how the base year behaves, which gives this cuvee a slightly more dynamic profile compared to more static non vintage blends.

What stands out is the energy of the wine. It opens with citrus and crisp apple, but instead of staying tight, it broadens gently into pear and light stone fruit, with a subtle pastry note appearing as it develops, giving a sense of movement rather than a fixed structure. There is a natural tension running through it, but it feels integrated rather than separate, supporting the fruit and helping it carry across the palate without making the wine feel sharp or rigid. The texture is slightly more layered than a typical non vintage Champagne, with a fine mousse and a soft, almost creamy mid palate that adds depth without taking away from the freshness. Overall, it feels like a bridge between non vintage consistency and vintage expression, where freshness, fruit, and a touch of development are all present in a balanced and evolving way.
