Description

Description:

Crafted by the acclaimed Matias Riccitelli, 'Tinto de la Casa' is a sophisticated Malbec boasting remarkable character and depth. Grown in the premium terroir of Valle de Uco, Mendoza, this wine is a true celebration of Argentina's iconic grape. Grapes are sourced from two exceptional sites: Las Compuertas, with its loamy-clay soils and rocky subsoil at 1,100 metres above sea level, and Gualtallary, a renowned high-altitude region at 1,400 metres, distinguished by its calcareous soils. This careful vineyard selection, combined with innovative co-fermentation and vinification methods, ensures a wine with exceptional freshness, intensity, and complexity. Both vegan-friendly and produced with meticulous attention to detail, 'Tinto de la Casa' offers a pure expression of Argentine Malbec, where terroir, talent and tradition come together in every bottle.

Tasting Notes
Appearance:
This Malbec pours a deep, inky violet, hinting at the concentrated black fruit character waiting within the glass.

Nose:
The bouquet is highly expressive, revealing heady floral aromas alongside bold notes of ripe blackberries, plums, and cassis. Layers of black pepper, liquorice, and toasty spice mingle with the fruit, evoking both intrigue and richness. Subtle savoury and mineral undertones hint at the wine's high-altitude origins.

Palate:
On the palate, this wine is full-bodied and opulent, offering dense flavours of juicy black fruit interwoven with liquorice and vibrant spicy overtones. The complexity gained from partial whole-bunch fermentation imparts an elegant structure and layered flavour profile, while polished tannins provide a velvety texture. Bright acidity-naturally retained from grapes grown at higher elevations-brings balance, freshness, and verve to the luxurious fruit core.

Finish:
A long, satisfying finish lingers with echoes of black fruit, spice and a touch of toast. The result is a Malbec that boasts both power and finesse, making it an ideal companion to bold dishes or savoured on its own.
