Not many bourbons can trace their roots back to a championship barbecue pitmaster, but Peg Leg Porker is anything but ordinary. Created by Nashville restaurateur and pitmaster Carey Bringle, this Tennessee bourbon reflects a passion for bold Southern flavours and traditional craftsmanship. After spending eight years maturing in new charred American oak barrels, the whiskey develops a depth and richness that feels mature without becoming overly heavy.
What really sets it apart is the finishing process. Following maturation, the bourbon is filtered through hickory charcoal, a nod to the wood that plays such an important role in authentic Tennessee barbecue. Rather than overwhelming the spirit, the process adds an extra layer of character, bringing subtle smoky accents that sit comfortably alongside classic bourbon notes of caramel, vanilla and toasted oak.
The result is a whiskey with plenty of warmth and personality. Sweet spice, roasted nuts and dark sugar notes unfold gradually, while the oak influence remains balanced and refined. Whether enjoyed neat, with a splash of water or alongside good food, it offers something a little different from traditional Kentucky-style bourbons while remaining unmistakably American in style.
