The "Navy Strength" designation refers to a higher bottling strength of 57% ABV (100 proof), a level historically used by the British Royal Navy to ensure that spilled spirit would not prevent gunpowder from igniting. At this strength, the spirit carries a greater concentration of essential oils and flavour compounds, resulting in a more intense and structured profile.
