Description

Description:

Produced in Borgarnes, Iceland, this vodka is distilled in small batches using a Carter-Head copper still - an unusual choice in vodka production, where column stills are more common. This method allows for greater retention of subtle flavour compounds, giving the spirit more character than highly neutral styles. The base is made from wheat and barley, combined with glacial spring water that has been naturally filtered through volcanic lava fields. This water is exceptionally pure and requires no additional treatment before use. The spirit itself is also filtered through lava rock, a distinctive step that contributes to its clean texture and clarity.

Production is powered by geothermal energy, reflecting a focus on sustainability as well as regional identity. The environment plays a central role in shaping the vodka, from the mineral content of the water to the filtration process, resulting in a spirit that emphasises purity while retaining a subtle grain character. Compared to more neutral vodkas, it shows slightly more texture and flavour definition, with a soft, rounded mouthfeel and a gentle aromatic lift. The small-batch approach also allows for tighter control over consistency and quality.
