Established in Anderson Valley by Roederer Estate, the American outpost of the Champagne house Louis Roederer, this wine reflects a deliberate adaptation of traditional methods to California conditions. The estate was founded in 1982 with a focus on producing high-quality sparkling wine using classic Champagne varieties, primarily Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The cool climate of Anderson Valley provides ideal conditions for slow ripening, allowing the grapes to retain acidity and develop balanced flavours.
The Quartet is a non-vintage blend, combining multiple base wines to ensure consistency in style from year to year. It is made using the traditional method, with secondary fermentation in bottle followed by ageing on lees to build texture and complexity. A portion of the base wines is fermented in oak, adding subtle depth without overpowering the freshness. Positioned in the premium tier, it offers a refined and balanced expression of American sparkling wine, bridging New World fruit character with classic technique.
