Description

Description:

Saint-Peray Lieu-dit Hongrie from M. Chapoutier is a fine Marsanne white wine originating from the celebrated AOP Saint-Peray in the Northern Rhone. Crafted on clay-limestone soils over a granitic base, this wine captures both power and elegance, delivering an almost ethereal character. The winemaking process involves whole bunch pressing and natural fermentation in large oak barrels, complemented by regular batonnage. Maturation in oak for eight months followed by finishing in concrete vats adds complexity, roundness, and depth to the final expression. Perfect for wine lovers seeking a Rhone white with sophistication, balance, and impressive persistence.

Tasting Notes
Appearance:
Crystal clear with a radiant pale gold hue that exhibits hints of green, signalling both freshness and toned opulence in the glass.

Nose:
A captivating bouquet opens with fresh roasted notes, lightly reminiscent of brioche, intertwined with aromas of white-fleshed fruit, fennel, and honeysuckle. Accents of anise lend an inviting complexity for those who appreciate aromatic depth.

Palate:
The texture is suavely rounded and well-balanced, showcasing a dense yet refined mouthfeel. White peach and subtle herbal undertones are supported by aniseed and delicate brioche, adding both vibrancy and a touch of indulgence. The overall impression is one of harmony, with each element in elegant support of the other.

Finish:
An outstanding finish with remarkable persistence, echoing the wine's roasted and aniseed notes. This enduring finale highlights the meticulous craftsmanship and terroir expression, leaving a lingering impression of freshness and sophistication. Ideal as an accompaniment to fresh pan-fried scallops with a citrus fruit butter, this Saint-Peray wine elevates any dining experience with its finesse and depth.
