Slingsby Gin is a spirit designed to showcase its local provenance throughout. The distillers, based in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, draw on a grand total of 24 botanicals in the creation of their gin. The nearby Rudding Park Luxury Hotel provide rhubarb and a selection of eleven different herbs from their Kitchen Garden. Taylors of Harrogate, purveyors of fine teas for over a century, provide green tea and jasmine. The remaining traditional botanicals are sourced from around the world. Once distilled, the spirit is blended with Harrogate's famed mineral-rich spa water to bring it to bottling strength. A rich and complex gin, fruity rhubarb and citrus aromas lead on the nose, before making way for the pine notes of juniper. The local herbs bring a light freshness and floral character. Rhubarb shines through once more in the finish. Serve Slingsby's Gin in a G&T with a sprig of lavender. |
