Stauning Kaos Triple Malt Danish Whisky is a distinctive expression that reflects both Danish whisky-making tradition and a spirit of experimentation. Produced at Stauning Distillery, it is created by blending three different styles of whisky made entirely on site: rye whisky, single malt, and heather- and peat-smoked malt. This combination gives the whisky its "Triple Malt" identity, bringing together elements that would usually be bottled separately into a single, cohesive release. Everything about its production is rooted in locality and hands-on methods. The barley and rye are grown in the surrounding Danish countryside and floor-malted at the distillery, a labour-intensive process rarely seen at scale today. Distillation takes place in small, direct-fired pot stills, which contribute to a richer, more characterful spirit. The whisky is then matured in a mix of virgin American oak barrels and first-fill ex-bourbon casks, allowing both fresh oak influence and softer vanilla sweetness to develop over time. Bottled without chill filtration, it retains its natural texture and full flavour, with a slight haze or sediment considered part of its authenticity.
