This expression represents a dessert-style extension of the Stolichnaya flavoured range, combining a neutral grain vodka base with a confectionery-driven profile. Production follows the same technical framework as the core range, with distillation and blending carried out in Latvia using modern column still systems and controlled filtration. The base vodka is produced from a blend of wheat and rye, fermented to create a clean alcohol wash before undergoing multiple stages of column distillation. This results in a highly purified spirit with minimal congeners, providing a stable and neutral platform for flavour addition. A faint grain softness is retained, contributing to the texture without interfering with the dominant flavour profile.
Filtration is performed using quartz sand and activated charcoal. The aim is to remove impurities and refine the mouthfeel while preserving a degree of body. This controlled approach ensures that the spirit remains smooth and consistent across batches. Flavour is introduced after distillation through the addition of natural and nature-identical caramel extracts, combined with a measured saline component to create the salted caramel profile. The formulation is carefully balanced to achieve sweetness without becoming overly heavy, while the salt element enhances perceived depth and reduces cloying character.
Blending plays a critical role in ensuring that the caramel notes integrate evenly with the vodka base. The result is a spirit where the confectionery elements are clearly defined but supported by a clean underlying structure. Water used for dilution is highly purified, maintaining clarity and preventing interference with flavour perception. This style differs significantly from traditional vodka, as the emphasis shifts from neutrality to flavour intensity. However, the production remains technically controlled, with consistency and balance as primary objectives.
Tasting Notes
Nose:
Rich caramel leads, with notes of toffee and burnt sugar. A light hint of salt and vanilla adds depth, with minimal alcohol sharpness.
Palate:
Smooth and full, with pronounced caramel sweetness balanced by a subtle saline edge. The texture is soft and slightly creamy, with gentle warmth beneath the sweetness.
Finish:
Medium in length, with lingering caramel and a light salted note. The sweetness fades gradually, leaving a soft and rounded impression.
