Inspired by the heritage of Taylor's Port, this wine forms part of the Historical Collection, a series that revisits traditional styles and packaging from the house’s long history in the Douro Valley. The Mallet Reserve Tawny takes its name from an early vessel once used to serve Port, reflecting a connection to the rituals and presentation of the past. The blend is composed from carefully selected wines aged in oak, using classic Douro grape varieties such as Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, and Tinta Roriz.
Maturation in seasoned casks allows gentle oxidation, developing a softer, more rounded profile while maintaining balance and freshness. Compared to older Tawny expressions, the style remains youthful but already shows early signs of complexity, with integration between fruit and oak influence. Positioned in the mid-tier category, it offers a refined yet approachable introduction to aged Tawny Port, combining historical character with a polished, contemporary finish.
