Produced in Spain by Familia Torres, this expression represents a more mature extension of the house style, built on the same solera ageing system but with a greater average age and increased cask influence. It reflects a progression in depth and integration while maintaining the balanced profile characteristic of Torres brandies. The base spirit is distilled from white wines made primarily from Parellada and Ugni Blanc grapes. These varieties are selected for their relatively neutral aromatic profile and stable acidity, allowing the ageing process to define the majority of the final character. Distillation is carried out using a combination of column stills for lighter fractions and pot stills for more aromatic components, which are later blended.
Maturation takes place in American oak casks that have previously held wine, contributing both structural and flavour elements. The solera system is used to manage ageing, with spirit moving gradually through a series of cask tiers. This method allows younger and older brandies to integrate over time, ensuring consistency while building complexity. The "15" designation refers to the average age of the spirit within the solera system rather than a strict minimum. The longer maturation period results in a greater concentration of oak-derived compounds such as vanillin, as well as more developed oxidative notes including dried fruit and nutty characteristics. Regular transfers between casks encourage controlled oxidation and continuous interaction with seasoned wood. Compared to younger expressions, the influence of fresh spirit is reduced, and the profile becomes more rounded and cohesive. The climate of Catalonia supports steady maturation, allowing for depth without excessive intensity.
Blending remains central to production, with different distillates and ages combined to achieve the desired balance. Dilution with purified water brings the spirit to bottling strength, preserving texture and clarity. The resulting brandy is fuller and more developed than the Reserva Imperial 10, with increased richness and a more pronounced oak presence, while still retaining smoothness and approachability.
