Description

Description:

Experience the vibrant elegance of Yering Station 'Little Yering' Shiraz, a testament to the rich winemaking heritage of Victoria's Yarra Valley. Nestled just 45 kilometres east of Melbourne, Yering Station stands proudly as the first vineyard in Victoria, its roots tracing back to 1838. The estate's prized Shiraz vines, thoughtfully cultivated on cool-climate vineyards in Yarra Glen, Yering, Coldstream, and select plots in Heathcote, yield wines renowned for their expressive varietal character and balance. Employing a combination of classic and modern winemaking techniques, Little Yering Shiraz is matured in seasoned French oak, preserving the purity and freshness of its fruit while layering complexity and finesse. This wine is vegan-friendly and crafted with a careful hand, offering both integrity and distinction in every sip.

Tasting Notes
Appearance:
Deep, youthful purple-red hues hint at the wine's vibrant fruit profile and freshness.

Nose:
A lifted bouquet of spicy plum and ripe blackberry greets the senses, beautifully intertwined with delicate notes of violet and a whisper of white pepper. The cool-climate origins shine through with aromatic intensity and lively floral undertones.

Palate:
The palate is soft and lush, brimming with juicy black fruit-plum and blackberry-supported by subtle hints of spice and floral grace. The presence of a small portion of Viognier adds an extra dimension of elegance, contributing fresh aromatics and enhancing the texture. Fine tannins and balanced acidity provide structure, while a nuanced layer of chocolate complexity from Heathcote fruit weaves through the mid-palate.

Finish:
Refined and persistent, the finish is wonderfully supple, leaving a lasting impression of dark fruit, gentle spice, and refreshing acidity that invites another sip. This cool-climate Shiraz encapsulates the best of the Yarra Valley's expressive terroir, delivering a wine full of character, vibrancy, and sophistication.
