Description

Description:

Distilled in the Cotswolds region of England, this gin reflects a modern craft approach built on traditional methods, with particular emphasis on botanical intensity and mouthfeel. Produced at the Cotswolds Distillery, it is known for a fuller style achieved through high botanical loading and careful distillation control. The base spirit is a neutral grain alcohol, selected for purity and consistency. Production follows a London dry methodology, with all botanicals introduced prior to distillation and no flavouring added afterwards. This ensures that the final profile is created entirely during distillation.

A total of nine botanicals are used, including juniper, coriander seed, angelica root, and citrus peel. Additional elements such as lavender and bay leaf contribute a more aromatic and slightly herbal profile. The botanical mix is deliberately concentrated, giving the gin a more pronounced flavour and texture than lighter styles. Maceration takes place overnight, allowing essential oils to fully extract into the spirit. Distillation is carried out in a copper pot still, with a slow process designed to preserve delicate aromatic compounds. Careful control of cut points ensures that only the cleanest and most balanced portion of the distillate is retained.

A defining feature of this gin is its slightly cloudy appearance when diluted or chilled. This is caused by the high concentration of botanical oils, which become visible when the spirit is mixed. Rather than being filtered out, these oils are retained to enhance texture and flavour intensity. Water used for dilution is treated to maintain consistency while preserving mouthfeel. The final spirit is bottled at a strength that supports both aromatic depth and structure. The overall style is rich and juniper-led, with a heavier body and more pronounced botanical presence than many contemporary gins. It reflects a production philosophy focused on flavour concentration and balance.
