The 1998 vintage was shaped by a dramatic growing season in the Douro. Winter rains replenished vineyard water reserves, followed by a hot and dry summer that encouraged concentration in the grapes. However, rain during harvest slightly reduced yields, resulting in one of the lowest harvests of the decade but producing wines with appealing balance and aromatic intensity. After decades in bottle, this vintage now reveals a harmonious blend of mature fruit, velvety tannins, and subtle tertiary notes, making it a compelling and elegant example of well-aged Vintage Port.
