Mitchell & Sons

Mitchell & Son was originally established as a whiskey bonding business - the practice of buying new make spirit from distilleries for the purpose of maturing it for their own blend - they are one of only a tiny number of whiskey bonder families still in business today.

Mitchell's family practice of marking their casks of different ages with a spot of paint lends itself to the respective names of their "Spotted Whiskies". Whiskey writer Jim Murray has described Mitchell & Son's Green Spot as "unquestionably one of the world's great whiskeys".
